Buck’s U.K. business marks successful first year with 11% revenue growth

LONDON, January 22, 2020Buck, a leading consulting, technology, and administration services firm specialising in pensions and employee benefits, is proud to announce the success of its first full year as a standalone business with year-on-year revenue growth of 11% in the U.K. Each of its four business lines have made a positive contribution to this double-digit growth.

Buck has seen a strong demand for its services across retirement, investment consulting, pensions administration, and employee benefits with 36 new clients won over the course of 2019, including BASF, Visa (U.K.), Tokio Marine Kiln, and WCF. Clients consistently cited innovative technology solutions and superior member experience as reasons Buck was selected.

Substantial market changes were seen in 2019, particularly in the pensions sector. With multiple regulations coming into effect including the need for pension schemes to equalise their GMP benefits, the CMA’s legally-binding Order on fiduciary and investment management, and The Pensions Regulator’s governance guidelines, Buck has been at the forefront of driving innovation and developing solutions to help clients deal with these changes effectively.

David Piltz, U.K. Managing Director at Buck, commented:
“The pensions market has seen considerable change in recent years, and I’m incredibly proud of our team who have worked so hard to help clients navigate this shifting landscape. Putting our clients at the centre of everything we do, we’ve consistently delivered high-quality, innovative solutions that drive desired business outcomes. Our first-to-market GMP equalisation solution, Square™ — led by Mark Williams who, in addition to serving clients, has taken on a key role on the Industry GMP Equalisation Working Group — has enabled clients to make significant progress toward full compliance, well ahead of their peers. This includes over 90% progressing with data analysis, two thirds already receiving advice on the choice of equalisation method, and the ability for some to complete full implementation of GMP equalisation within 2020.

“With many exciting developments in the pipeline, including new functionality to include total rewards within bEnabled, our seamless user experience, we’re looking forward to increasing our momentum in the market as we head into 2020.”
